WHAT IS SU JOK?

Su Jok therapy was discovered by a Korean scientist, Prof. Park Jae Woo, who after many years of careful observation and clinical experience developed a new system of therapy using only the hands and feet to affect the same results as body acupuncture. He found a complete correspondence system representing the whole body, on the hands and the feet. In Korean, Su means "Hand" and Jok means "Feet."

From a practical point of view there are two corresponding systems:

Main Corresponding System: Each organ and part of the body has its own projection in the main correspondence system.

The thumb (or big toe) corresponds to the neck and head; the forefinger and the little finger (or second and little toes) to the upper limbs; the middle and fourth fingers (or third and fourth toe) to the lower limbs and the palm (or foot) to the torso.

In this way, on each hand and foot, a miniature spitting image of the human body is formed, a micro acupuncture system which in the Su Jok therapy is called main correspondence system.

Insect Corresponding System: As well as the whole hands and feet the miniature body image (micro acupuncture system) is also located on each toe and finger separately. In the Su Jok therapy this micro acupuncture system is called Insect Correspondence System. Each organ and part of the body has its own projection. On the hands and feet, there are two independent micro acupuncture systems.

PRIMARY AND SECONDARY ZONES OF CORRESPONDENCE

The body has two vertical halves: left and right. In the same way each correspondence system has the left and right half, corresponding with the left and right half.

The position of the left and right half in the Main Correspondence System is defined when your own hands (feet) are with fingers (toes) directed downwards. The palms (feet) turned forward. Form a mental picture of the turned up thumb, together with its adjoining area of the palm (foot). As it is, on the right halves of the hands (feet) the right body half is projected and on the left half, the left body half.

The position of the left and right halves in the Insect Corresponding System is defined when your own hands (feet) are with fingers (toes) directed upwards. The palms (feet) are turned forward. As it is, in the right half of the right fingers (toes) the right body half is projected and in the left half, the left body half.

In both systems all organs have correspondence zones on the left hand (feet) as well as on the right hand (feet). The correspondence zones, which are on the side of the organ they represent, are called primary zones and these on the other side - secondary.

Examples:

The liver, right leg, right arm, right ovary, right ear and right eye are all organs located on the right hand side of the body. That is why their primary correspondence zones are on the right hand (foot) and their secondary correspondence zones are on the other side, on the left hand (foot).

The heart, spleen, left ovary, left leg and left arm are in the left body half. That is why their primary correspondence zones are on the left hand (foot) and their secondary correspondence zones on the right hand (foot).

The primary correspondence zones are closer to the organ they correspond with and may be that is the reason for their great effectiveness. They have priority when you choose a zone for stimulation. To find out more, you can check out Infertility Treatment Options.
